Agatho
During ancient Pompeii, Agathon created ointments for the aristocracy of the Roman Empire. According to legend, the master perfumer was so talented and had such a deep knowledge of materials that his essences were considered the work of the gods.
Our olfactory project rediscovers and celebrates the excellence of these ointments and gives a contemporary touch to the olfactory landscape market through the use of natural materials of the highest quality. The legacy of history, the essence of the future.
Our perfumes are presented in exclusive and elegant packaging: handmade porcelain perfume bottles seal the fragrances. The manufacturing techniques have been handed down since 1740 by the Royal Factory of Capodimonte, founded by the philanthropic King Charles III of Bourbon, under whom the excavations of Pompeii began.
Pompeian red is a red ocher of natural inorganic origin, composed of iron oxide. In ancient Rome it was known by the name of sinopsis, due to the city of Sinope where, according to Pliny, it was first found. In Pompeii, as well as in other cities of ancient Rome, there are various examples of wall paintings in which this inorganic pigment is used.

The Mediterranean freshness of the essence, whose citrus notes accompany the sensuality of the Damask rose, sublimating itself in sinuous oriental echoes, is inspired by the color that made the frescoes of the Pompeian domes famous and unmistakable all over the world.
The pigment obtained from the cinnabar mineral, Rossopompeiano, emblem of a part of the history of the city of the perfumer Agatho, becomes perfume.
