Agatho
During ancient Pompeii, Agathon created ointments for the aristocracy of the Roman Empire. According to legend, the master perfumer was so talented and had such a deep knowledge of materials that his essences were considered the work of the gods.
Our olfactory project rediscovers and celebrates the excellence of these ointments and gives a contemporary touch to the olfactory landscape market through the use of natural materials of the highest quality. The legacy of history, the essence of the future.
Our perfumes are presented in exclusive and elegant packaging: handmade porcelain perfume bottles seal the fragrances. The manufacturing techniques have been handed down since 1740 by the Royal Factory of Capodimonte, founded by the philanthropic King Charles III of Bourbon, under whom the excavations of Pompeii began.
Adonis is one of the best known characters in Greek mythology and immediately brings to mind the idea of beauty. In fact, he was a wonderful young man.
However, the superhuman beauty of Adonis has a murky origin, which seems to contrast significantly with his aesthetic appearance. Aphrodite jealous of her "Mirra" beauty punished her by making her fall in love with her own father "Cinira" King of Cyprus.
Mirra was increasingly tormented. She could no longer resist this illicit and devastating love and she ended up contemplating her suicide. Luckily, or badly, she confided in her nurse, who, to prevent the girl from committing her irreparable act, devised a trap.
She took Mirra's father into a dark room, telling her that there was a beautiful girl there ready to lie with him, but that, out of shame, she didn't want to be seen. The girl was obviously Mirra, with whom King Cinyra spent twelve nights of passion.
But no one can unite with another creature, fully enjoying the pleasures of love, without knowing its face. Curiosity seized Cinyra too, so she lit a lamp, and discovered that his lover was his daughter.
Seized with rage, the king began chasing the girl to kill her with a sword. Of her He was almost succeeding, but the gods, taken by pity for the maiden, transformed her into a tree, which took her name from her.
Her father, on the other hand, committed suicide out of shame.
Adonis is depicted with delicate forms. Paintings from Pompeii and the Domus Aurea represent his birth from the trunk of the tree into which his mother was changed
An essence whose floral and enveloping notes are rooted in myth, which plays with the hypnotization of the senses like the young and beautiful Adonis against Aphrodite.
Unleashing the freshness of wisteria, jasmine, geranium, damask rose and white lily flowers, this essence interprets and expresses the beautiful and damned Adonis, like a short-lived flower which: "poorly fixed to the ground and too fragile, its lightness owes its his name in the wind and the wind scatters only its petals".
